Sory for not being so much expressive lately, but be sure I am still listening to all posts.

Thank the Lord Buddha!

Locopon, we are still using a beta version. Some of us (maybe all, I dunno) cannot get the DSLocaleSelector skinobject to work. Some DNN implementations report being stuck at 4.9.5 because of localization problems.

Would it by any chance be possible to provide us with a stable implementation of DSLocalizator for DNN version 5.4.4 ? That would allow some disfortunate DNN installations to upgrade to 5.4.4, that would allow me to implement the DSLocaleSelector skin object again in my skins and that would give us all some peace of mind. And that would allow you to further inspect 5.5 and 5.6.

Hi Locopon,

Nice to hear from you.

Great news that your not dropping DSLocalizator yet.   After you've gone through the localization in DNN5.5, I do hope you decide to release a stable version of DSLocalizator that can continue being used when CL if off in DNN.  I think the CL in DNN5.5 has hopes of doing what we need, it's simply not ready....and I can;t see it being a good (and quick!!!) solution until they sort out how to copy modules across pages correctly....

Thanks,

Dave.

The latest version is already being used on a lot of producton site so I am not aware of the problems

I moved my site from webhost4life after a hosting nightmare.....so maybe I missed some posts.

Could you please post about the porblems?.. or if you already did it, then please post the lik to the problem. I will take a look.

You were replying to the problems here: http://dnn.tiendaboliviana.com/web/Support/Forums/tabid/72/forumid/2/threadid/2661/scope/posts/threadpage/9/Locale/en-US/Default.aspx but after 5 January no more reply.

Jaydee96 then continued the issue here: http://dnn.tiendaboliviana.com/web/Support/Forums/tabid/72/forumid/2/threadid/2980/scope/posts/Locale/en-US/Default.aspx

I don't think there were posts from me about the issue. I was then trying to learn to create skins and thought that the problem was caused by my lack of skinning skills. I did follow closely your forum then and I had the same issues as you can read there. For some time I have been using the DSLocaleSelectorPA but a module is much less flexible than a skin object as it must occupy a pane. Then I read somewhere that DNN's core localeselector worked fine with DSLocalizator and I had no problem integrating that into my skin. Since February I have not looked at the issue anymore, so my memory is rather vague.

Next weekend, I will do some tests and I will try to replicate the problem.

Also, read the posting by Nico Pitch here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/77/threadid/383642/scope/posts/threadpage/3/Default.aspx (the last posting on the page) who writes: "I'm stucked with my websites containing DSLocale on DNN version 4.9.5".

Dave wrote in the beginning of this thread that he too is using DNN's core language selector. Why, when DSLocaleSelector has all those options to configure at will? Switching to the language selector was really a trade-off.

For what I understand about 5.5 and 5.6 is that there still will be a need for 3rd party CL solutions and that many users (the bigger ones) fear the work involved in switching to DNN core CL.

It's really not for myself that I ask this. My sites are not yet that big, in one day I should be able to migrate my sites to the new CL solution, but there are DNN sites out there that are stuck because of lack of support.
