Problems after upgrade to 5.6.1  (United Kingdom)

Hi

I recently upgraded dnn from 5.6.0 to 5.6.1 and afterwards received a msg from the DLLocalizator module telling me that the hack has been disabled because of upgrade and needed setting back.  This was helpful.

However, a week or so later I discovered that the localization was not working and the admin inbox was full of hundreds of emails alerting me that the hack had been disabled due to upgrade.

Problem is that I only upgraded once and turned the hack back on after I got the first message.

Can you explain how it could have been turned off again and why so many emails were sent?

thanks

Gus

When you enable DSLocalizator, in the System Installation and Host Options, you can enable the hacks and you also have an option Hack Reminder Status.

When you enable DSL, DSL will change 2 lines in the core files. When you upgrade DNN, your upgrade will overwrite the modified files and a "superuser" (a host account) has to re-enable the hack status. If you might forget, DSL offers the Hack Reminder Status. If you select "Installed, Enabled", DSL will start sending you emails to remind you to re-enable those hacks, every so many minutes. If you want to enable this, you should put the reminder task interval on 1440 minutes, which would be once a day? Unless the installation is mission-critical
