The modifications were so simple. So here you are a version that works on both versions DNN 3.1.1+ and DNN 4+

By the way. For the installation of this new version on a site that has te previous one, is it ok to simply put the installation zip file into the install folder and start installation? I mean will the update work out automatically?

Yes, Installation will work if you have a previous version. But you need to repeat the installation twice because DNN has a bug with the detection of new implemented interface. DSLocalizator now implements IPortable and that is the reason your need to install twice before begin using it.
